Couples Counseling
Strong relationships are an important foundation for mental health. I provide a pragmatic, hopeful, empathic, and supportive space for couples to strengthen their connection. I work with unmarried and married couples of all orientations to figure out what is working, what is not, and why efforts to resolve difficulties may have faltered in the past. Together, we will explore underlying issues and create long-lasting and effective strategies for a contented relationship.
Common concerns that are addressed in couples counseling include:
- Communication
- Understanding and resolving conflict
- Financial stress
- Infertility
- Infidelity
- Interfaith and Intercultural families
- Intimacy and sexual difficulties
- Transitions including: Moving in together, getting married, becoming parents, empty nests, retirement, blended families, caring for other family members
- Juggling roles inside and outside the home
- Good endings: decisions about separation or divorce
