About Me

I am a National Board Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the states of Illinois and Virginia. I work with individuals and couples in a small private practice in the Chicago loop and via telehealth. I hold a masters degree in counseling psychology from Northwestern University, a masters degree in education from Harvard University and a B. A. (Honours) from SOAS, University of London, U.K.

Clinical Training

I trained in counseling psychology and completed two practicum years at the Family Institute at Northwestern University: one as a general therapist in the Bette D. Harris Clinic, and the second receiving specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a member of the Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies team. I served at DePaul University Counseling Center as an advanced extern and a staff therapist, where I worked primarily with international undergraduate and graduate students treating a variety of mental health concerns.

I was trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy externship, and have completed level one training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist in Chicago, I lived and worked in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. In the 1990s, I served for several years as Associate Director in the University of Chicago's Career Services Office.
