Billing and Insurance

Billing

The fee for individual or couples therapy is $150 for a 50-60 minute session.  Payment-in-full is due at the time of service. We can accept payment by cash, check, Zelle/Chase quickpay, or credit card.  Please make your check payable to "Hilary Arnow LCPC PLLC.".

I generally take payment and confirm further appointments at the beginning of the session because I find that this allows us to use the end of the session to reflect on our work together and focus on what will happen next, rather than settling a bill.

Insurance

My practice is in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO. The name of the practice is “Hilary Arnow LCPC PLLC”.

If you wish to use your benefits from another insurance company, I will be happy to provide you with a detailed receipt for your payment so that you can submit your claims to your insurance provider.

What is and isn't covered by insurance can be confusing. If you will be using your health insurance to pay my fees, I suggest that you call your insurance company, (you will likely be asked for your insurance details from your card), and ask the following questions, as they are appropriate to your situation:

Is mental health care covered by my plan?

Is family therapy covered by my plan? (CPT codes 90846 and 90847)

How many sessions are covered per year?

Is "Hilary Arnow LCPC PLLC." an in-network provider for my plan? If the answer is "yes", we can bill Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois directly and you will only be responsible for your co-pay at the time of your appointments.

If ""Hilary Arnow LCPC PLLC." is an out-of-network-provider, how much of the fee will I be reimbursed for each visit?

What is my deductible? (the amount you will have to pay out of pocket (usually annually) before insurance covers your medical expenses) and how much of my deductible has already been met?

Do I have a co-pay for each visit and if so, what is that fee? You will pay that amount directly to me at the time of each visit.

I will be happy to provide you with any documentation that you need to submit to your insurance company.   I do want to mention that in order to bill your insurance company, I have to submit a psychiatric diagnosis to them.  Some people are uncomfortable with this and choose to pay out of pocket to maintain complete confidentiality.  I am happy to discuss this further to help you consider your options.
